It has been a mostly quiet couple of days across the NFL.
With the opening wave of free agency and the second wave of “bargain signings” now in the books, the league’s attention is turning to the 2026 NFL Draft. There will still be signings, of course, but many of those will not come until after the draft as teams wait to see what holes remain on their rosters, and what veterans are still available to patch them.
That makes today seem like a good one for another book recommendation, so let’s go with
Cat On The Road to Findout by Yusuf Cat Stevens, which we just finished reading.
Unless you were there, it is easy not to know that Stevens was one of the biggest music stars of the early 1970s, before a near-death experience led him to walk away from the industry, embrace Islam, and set out on a journey to his family and humanitarian work.
The book is very straightforward as Stevens tells his life story from growing up in England, through his music career, his beliefs, and finally returning to his music.
It is a little bit long at 560 pages, but overall it was a good read, even for those who are only vaguely familiar with Stevens’ music catalogue.
Let’s get rolling with today’s edition of the Sunday Dawg Chow.
