Now that all but one sport — yay, Track & Field trio! — have wrapped up, it’s time for another check in.
If you’re new here, WELCOME to Olympic Sports Catch Up! As the Olympic sports manager at this beautiful little website, I lead a team of talented and passionate writers who have a special interest in non-revenue Olympic sports at Missouri (I despise the phrase “non-revenue”).
I’ve broken down each of the sports below and will be sharing fun/relevant info, social posts, and any writing our talented
crew has done..
Enjoy!

Roster Updates
- There’s been many changes since my last edition. There’s even some turnover in the coaching staff, as it was announced that hitting coach Bryson LeBlanc, who had spent the last three seasons in CoMo, would not return for the 2026-27 season. The departure list is now [takes deep breath]: Keagen Kohlhoff (RHP), Chris Patterson (3B), PJ Green (RHP), Kadin Muckley (RHP), Gehrig Goldbeck (SS), Keyler Gonzalez (RHP), Peyton Basler (2B), Kaden Peer (OF), Blaize Ward (2B), Sam Parker (1B), Todd Feurtado III (LHP) and Tyler Macon (1B)
- There has also been one addition, with FGCU transfer Wilfred Gonzalez, an elite hitting shortstop.
- Henry wrote about the departure of Coach LeBlanc

- The ongoing list of departures was tracked by Sophie & Henry
- Sophie covered the addition of Gonzalez (this is also where we will post updates of other additions)
Basketball- Women’s
- A couple of schedule announcements have come out, including a game at Kansas City’s T-Mobile Arena in November between Mizzou and K-State that was announced on May 26. And then on Friday morning, the Tigers’ opponent in the SEC/ACC Challenge was announced— Florida State, who they will face on Thursday, December 3 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles are coming off a 10-21 record last season, including 5-13 in the ACC.
- Episode 3 of the new athletic department’s new content creation arm, Skyward Productions, features Kellie Harper. You can watch below.
- It also looks like most, if not all of the newbies have gotten moved in. Welcome Jada, McKenzie, Nevaeh, and others (I don’t know who all of them are yet by looks, sorry). Per reports, it looks like they’re still waiting on the arrival of Arizona’s Tanyuel Welch.
- Congrats to Jordana Reisma, who signed a professional contract with the Mandurah Magic of NBL1.
- Loved the team’s focus on sharing experiences of this season’s seniors to showcase what’s in store for the next crop of Tigers. I still HATE this font with a fiery passion; it is super unreadable — the e’s are atrocious— and makes me cringe everytime I see it.
Golf- Women’s
History in the Making
- Women’s Golf has wrapped up and WOW, what a season! I spent much of Memorial Day weekend frantically refreshing the scores links to see if the Tigers would advance to round 4 — they did — and sending my dad updates, so much so that he asked if I was a golf fan now. The answer is no, I am still not “into” golf, but I AM a Mizzou fan, and as such, will always root for them and love to see another program make history (HERstory)?
- The Tigers finished a program-best 12th, which topped a previous best 16th place set in 2005. Per MU Tigers, the team’s 1,175 stroke total tope the team’s previous-best by 30 strokes. The Tigers were led by freshmen Ebba Liljeberg, who finished 30th with a +2. Senior Addie Dobson, who also participated in the US Open this week, placed 46th with a +7. Fleur van Beek rounded out the top Tiger finishers in 55th place at a +9. The trio posted the best scores by a Tiger at the NCAA Finals in school history with 290, 295 and 297 over 72 holes.
Walker, Zamora and Dobson will graduate at the end of the season, but the Tigers will return two of their top three golfers for next year as they attempt to reach back-to-back NCAA Championship appearances for the first time in program history.
Portal Updates
- Even a top 12 finish in the country wasn’t enough to stop the transfers, as Irene Garcia entered the portal on May 26. Garcia was not part of the NCAA tourney team.
Golf- Men’s
NGI Wrap Up
- Men’s Golf wrapped up their season on May 24 with a runner-up finish at the National Golf Invitational in Arizona, recording per MU Tigers, the fifth-best 54-hole score in school history with a score of 826. They wrapped up the competition strong, finishing the final day 9-under par behind just Grand Canyon.
- Three Tigers finished in the top 10 of the 50-golfer field, with sophomore Trent Mierl finishing in 5th place with a collegiate best 206. Senior Virgilio Paz and junior Brock Snyder tied for 9th overall. Snyder’s 208 tied his best 54-hole score of his career.
Gymnastics
- Friends, the coaching staff is complete! On June 3, the Tigers announced the addition of new assistant coach Oleksii Koltakov, who led most recently a vault resurgence while working at Georgia the past two seasons, and won WCGA Assistant Coach of the Year honors at Nebraska. You can read my piece here.
- There’s still one slot open for another transfer — I’ve still got my eye on Arkansas transfer Ja’Leigh Lang, a solid 9.9 vaulter, something the Tigers could use. Will the Tigers’ new coaching addition tip the scales in Mizzou’s favor? We will see!
- The incoming freshmen class, who make up the highest ranked recruiting class in program history, have done some sharing about why they chose Mizzou
Soccer
Schedule Update
- We have a schedule that features eight home matches and four new SEC opponents! In Colin’s piece, he wrote that this schedule offers more opportunity for the team to make it back to the SEC tourney for the first time since 2020. Why? The non-con matches opponents are non-Power Four matchups, and the SEC slate features six repeat opponents who they kept it close with (tie or one point).
Softball
More Carr Honors
Freshman Abby Carr was awarded her second Freshman All-American honors, this time by D1 Softball. The two-way player led the Tigers in ERA (2.92), saves (5), home runs (12) and RBI (44) in the 2026 season. This marks her third postseason honor, as she was previously named to the NFCA All-Region Midwest Second Team and named Freshman All-American by Softball America.
Tennis
Coaching Hires
- Robin Goodman’s staff has taken shape and one is a former Tiger. On May 28, Goodman announced the hiring of Manny Raga as Associate Head Coach and former Tiger Bronte Murgett as an assistant coach. Raga comes from OU where he served as an assistant for the men’s program since July 2023. Mugett competed for Mizzou from 2020-22 and returns home after spending a season as an assistant at Virginia Tech. Per MU Tigers:
“I could not be more excited to welcome Manny and Bronte to Mizzou,” Goodman said. “From my initial conversation with each of them, what stood out was the energy, the positivity, and the genuine excitement they have about what we’re building here. This program deserves people who walk in the door every day, fired up to help our student athletes succeed on and off the court, and that’s what we’re getting.”
Track & Field
NCAA Championships Updates
- Three Tigers have extended their postseasons and will advance to the NCAA Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene this coming week— Sam Innes (weight throw), SEC Champ Valentina Barrios and Skylar Ciccolini (javelin)
- Innes finished 8th overall with a mark of 67.83m.
- Freshman Dillon Leacock just missed qualifying in the 400m hurdles, as he finished 16th (he needed to be top 12). He went his personal best time to make the quarterfinals earlier in the meet.
- Monica Wanjiku just missed the finals, finishing 15th overall in the 10,000m with a33:08.68.
- The nation’s top javelin throwers showed out in the first round meet, with Barrios taking first at 57.35m, Ciccolini finishing 11th with a 50.51m, and Val Galligan taking 18th, setting a new personal best at 48.53m.
