The Golden State Warriors take a quick one-game road trip as they get set to face the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM PT in Denver and the game will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock.

The Warriors extended their winning streak to three games after beating the Washington Wizards on Friday night, 131–126. A hot shooting
start from beyond the arc gave Golden State a 12-point lead at halftime, but momentum quickly shifted in the third quarter as Washington outscored them 34–20, putting the Warriors in a two-point deficit heading into the fourth.
Fortunately, they closed strong down the stretch, securing the win behind a balanced scoring effort from Brandin Podziemski, Gui Santos, and Kristaps Porzingis. All three starters scored 20-plus points, combining for 77 to seal the team’s 36th victory of the season.
What to watch for tonight:
The Warriors will be tested as they enter a tough stretch of their schedule, beginning with tonight’s matchup against a red-hot Nuggets team that has won five straight — the second-longest active streak in the NBA behind the San Antonio Spurs (eight straight).
Golden State will likely continue to lean on Porzingis offensively. He has been a seamless fit so far and noted that he still hasn’t fully found his rhythm from beyond the arc despite knocking down 5-of-11 threes in the previous game.
He’ll be especially important on both ends as the Warriors look to slow down three-time MVP Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets’ star continues to dominate this season, averaging a triple-double with 27.9 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.8 assists while shooting an efficient 57.4% from the field.
Golden State’s lack of frontcourt depth will likely force Porzingis — and even Draymond Green — into that primary matchup, making their ability to contain Jokic a key factor that will ultimately decide the outcome of the game.
