Barcelona’s striker search has reportedly taken the club to Mexico and Chivas starlet Armando González.
According to Fox Sports, Barca have been in contact already to discuss his availability as they continue to look for attacking reinforcements.
Gonzalez is still only 22 but has been out of the standout players in Liga MX, with 17 goals in 24 matches, and seems to have caught Barcelona’s eye ahead of the summer transfer window.
Celtic, West Ham and CSKA Moscow are also being credited with interest
in the youngster due to his eye-catching form.
ESPN Mexico are also reporting on the interest and say he has release clause of 15 million euros for European teams but that could be reduced, particularly if Chivas can keep some percentage of a future sale.
In the meantime, Gonzalez will be one to watch. He is expected to make Mexico’s squad for World Cup 2026 and will have the chance to show what he can do on the world stage.
