Out since June with a knee injury she got surgery for in August, Rhea Ripley has warned us that walking isn’t the same as wrestling
. But she’s also been giving us some signs that she’s getting closer to returning to WWE (and that maybe we’ll see her hubby Buddy Matthews back in AEW soon, too).👋🏼 stay ready.
The latest indication that Ripley’s return is getting closer came at a Motionless in White concert last night (Nov. 5) in Orlando, Florida. Motionless in White is the band responsible for Rhea’s
“Demon in Your Dreams” entrance music, and played her to the ring at WrestleMania 40.
Lead singer Chris Motionless thanked Ripley for representing the band and metal in general, hailing her as “the real fucking superstar of the night”. For her part, Rhea seemed flattered. She was also hopping around pretty well on both of her knees…
While a quick clip certainly doesn’t mean she’s cleared for a return, it is an indicator of progress. In July, Ripley said she couldn’t bend her injured knee very well, adding, “kind of need to bend, guys.” Looks like they were bending okay before Motionless dedicated their song “Fight Like Hell” to Rhea. And seeing as the concert was at Orlando’s Kia Center, we’re guessing The Nightmare’s been rehabbing from surgery at the nearby WWE Performance Center.
Any guesses on when Rhea Ripley will be back to reclaim the WWE Women’s title she never lost? Make them below while we wish her the best on her comeback.
