The typical Real Madrid story. Real Madrid always finds a way. I am still not convinced that we will win any silverware this season but despite all the turmoil this season, the team have found a way to compete and breathe some hope
into the remainder of the campaign.
A Way to Win
Alvaro Arbeloa came in with some hype and after a rocky start has settled into a groove, managing key absences and putting together an effective scheme which optimises the strengths of his players.
Vinicius has recovered his personality on the pitch and is looking more and more like a match-winner every game.
while the derbi wasn’t the most difficult affair we’ve had with the mattress makers, the attitude of the team was positive. Unfortunately one cannot rely on this team to be consistent this season. Every good run of results has been followed by an incredible loss of form.
If Real Madrid are to win La Liga it will be because there wasn’t enough time for the loss of form to catch up with them.
Pitarch, Tchouameni and Arda Guler
A rather unfathomable trio has given balance to a once chaotic midfield with their off the ball work in both directions.
Pitarch takes pressure off Tchouameni by circulating the ball and takes pressure off Arda by making runs. This allows Arda and Tchouameni to focus on what they do best. It has also allowed Fede more freedom as Pitarch has positioned himself expertly to cover for teammates or recover during transitions.
One of the most difficult defensive actions is tracking midfielder runs and Pitarch has done ever so well for such a young player.
When Tchouameni doesn’t have to be a playmaker, he looks at his best. When Arda doesn’t have to be a runner he looks his best. Thiago Pitarch makes it possible.
