It was just a couple months ago when the pro wrestling rumor mill honed in on Ireland as a potential location for a future WrestleMania event. Well, the first step towards making that happen might just be on the way.
That’s because Newstalk FM’s Off The Ball in Ireland says WWE stars Becky Lynch and Finn Balor will both be live in their studio on Friday at 7 pm local time for a ‘massive announcement.’ The accompanying video also describes it as a “HUGE WWE ANNOUNCEMENT.”
WWE loves to run several international Premium Live Events each year, so my guess is that this announcement will be about Ireland landing one of these events for 2027.
Lynch just returned to WWE on this week’s Raw to enter the women’s world title picture, while Finn Balor continues to chase the WWE championship on SmackDown even though he got screwed out of the number one contender spot at SummerSlam. It’s a pretty good bet that both stars will be in a match for a world championship on any WWE PLE that might be coming to Ireland in the near future.
