Lamine Yamal’s fitness is currently a cause of some concern after the Barcelona youngster was spotted apparently in some discomfort during Spain’s win over Bulgaria last time out.
The teenager appears to have some kind of problem with his back, although he did train as normal with the national team on Saturday.
Ahead of the session, Luis de la Fuente spoke to reporters about his squad and who could feature next time out against Turkey.
“I will make the decision at the last minute, I want to see this
afternoon’s training, very important for us and then evaluate,” he said when asked about Ferran Torres.
De la Fuente then seemed to be referring to Yamal when he added: “I will assess whether there are more or less tired players, there are some blows, discomfort, but not important. There is no discomfort from any player that is important.”
While it’s good to hear that Yamal clearly doesn’t have any kind of serious problem, you can bet that Barcelona would much rather he sat out the game if he does have any kind of niggle.
