With their pursuit of Alexander Isak due to be compelted on Deadline Day, Liverpool FC are now switching gears to leftover business. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi looks to be one deal that’s left to be done, and Crystal Palace moving for Brighton’s Igor Julio on loan appears to have cleared the way for that move to happen.
With all that said, the matter of Harvey Elliott’s future is up in the air as we approach the closure of the summer transfer window. Elliott has been linked with a move away from
Liverpool, and rumours of him moving to RB Leipzig intensified in recent weeks. However, Leipzig appears to have been unable to match Liverpool’s valuation of the player.
Liverpool-based journalists like Paul Joyce and James Pearce are reporting that Aston Villa are keen to sign Harvey Elliott, albeit on loan. I’m sure Liverpool will be more keen on a permanent move, given the spending this summer so honestly I’m not sure how this one pans out.
There’s also the matter of notorious rumour monger suddenly turned credible source Indykalia reporting a few days ago of Liverpool being seriously interested in Villa’s Morgan Rogers. A move for the reigning PFA Young Player of the Year would be pricy, £70-80 million would be my guess, or even £100 million if Villa are feeling saucy. It seems highly unlikely that such a move would occur with little to no buildup on Deadline Day, but hey if Aston Villa want to swap one highly rated prospect for another while solving their PSR woes, they know who to call.
