Leny Yoro was named on the shortlist for Tuttosport’s 2025 Golden Boy Award. Players under the age of 21 are eligible to win.
The 19-year-old, going on 20 next month, was a bright spot during one of Manchester United’s darkest seasons, performance-wise. A summer 2024 transfer, Yoro made 33 appearances in his first season with the club, and he played significant minutes down the stretch, which included starting and playing every minute of United’s Europa League quarterfinal and semifinal matches, as well
as the Europa League Final.
Yoro netted his first goal for United in the quarterfinal first leg at Lyon — an equalizer — and he added his first assist in the semifinal second leg against Athletic Bilbao.
So far in the 2025-26 season, Yoro has appeared in all seven Premier League matches, playing 453 out of a possible 630 minutes. He also recorded his second-ever assist, a would-be go-ahead goal for Bruno Fernandes, during a 1-1 draw at Fulham.
Yoro has the opportunity to join the likes of Wayne Rooney (2004), Anderson (2008) and Anthony Martial (2015) who all won the award while signed to Manchester United. Paul Pogba also won the award one year after leaving Manchester United for Juventus (the first time).
The award winner is expected to be announced in December.
