Barcelona are struggling with injuries currently and have seen Dani Olmo join Gavi, Fermin Lopez, Raphinha, Joan Garcia and Marc-Andre ter Stegen on the injured list this week.
The Catalans also reportedly
have a few worries about Pedri and sent a “precautionary report” to Spain when he arrived for international duty which “urged close monitoring of his training and workload.”
Pedri has started every game for Barcelona this season, playing a total of 1024 minutes, and it seems the Catalans are concerned about his workload.
He will still be expected to feature against Georgia and Bulgaria in World Cup qualifying, and it remains to be seen if Luis de la Fuente will look to rest him at any point.
Hansi Flick is said to be concerned about Pedri and his Barcelona team’s fitness as a whole after seeing intensity levels drop in recent weeks and his team suffer defeats to PSG and Sevilla.
Yet there’s very little time to rest in a packed schedule, with Barcelona facing fixtures against Girona, Olympiacos and Real Madrid following the culmination of the international break.
