It finally happened. The weather cooled and it actually feels like autumn is here.
The Rock at La Cantera has a full fall schedule celebrating arts and culture influenced by southwest Texas. Oktoberfest took place earlier this month. Tomorrow a family-friendly Halloween with trunk or treat, a costume contest, and pumpkin painting will take place.
And on Saturday all are invited for a Dia De Los Muertos event:
Celebrating the Mexican holiday that honors and remembers the dead, The Rock will host interactive
Día de Los Muertos activations on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 12 to 11:45 p.m. Fans can purchase traditional treats at the Frost Plaza kiosks like Sugar Skull cookies and sweet bread, shop local vendors at the market and get Skull Mexican makeup from a face painter. A digital ofrenda on the Frost Plaza big screen will open up for submissions that morning up for fans to submit photos of their loved ones through an on-screen QR code to see them displayed in real-time. To close out the day of remembrance, Coco will be streaming on the big screen that day at beginning 3 p.m., followed by live music from 5 to 11 p.m.
