The Kentucky Wildcats are getting prepared for their week one matchup with the Toledo Rockets this Saturday to kick off the 2025 season.
Looking for a bounce-back year, Mark Stoops and his team seemingly have minimal expectations, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. With 50 new players on the roster, the swing between good and bad could be really wide, which makes this season hard to predict. However, the majority of people are jumping on the under set at 4.5 wins. That is exactly what USA
Today has done as well.
Paul Myerberg and Jim Sergent took the time to predict the records of each FBS team this season, and they are not high on the Cats. The duo is picking the Cats to finish in 15th place in the SEC (only ahead of Mississippi State) and to finish the year with a 4-8 record. They are also projecting Kentucky to pull off one SEC win, going 1-7 in conference. They didn’t say which SEC game they thought Kentucky would win, but there could be several winnable ones on the schedule between Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Florida, all at home, as well as road games vs. Auburn and Vanderbilt.
Things are looking bleak when it comes to how the national media views this football team. Mark Stoops has always performed well when his back is against the wall. Now would be the perfect time for another solid response from the UK Head Coach and his team.
Time to go beat Toledo.
