According to a report from Bild’s Julian Agardi, three VfB Stuttgart players have received a call from German national team head coach Julian Nagelsmann regarding their inclusion in the World Cup roster.
Attackers Deniz Undav and Jamie Leweling, along with defensive midfielder (and former Bayern Munich academy star) Angelo Stiller are all reportedly headed to North America. Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel has not been contacted as of yet:
Julian #Nagelsmann nominates #Undav, #Stiller, and #Leweling
for the World Cup. #Nübel hasn’t received a call yet. @BILD
Nübel is not the only curious omission from VfB Stuttgart, though. Left-back Maximilian Mittelstädt, right-back Josha Vagnoman, and winger Chris Führich have been part of the roster under Nagelsmann and have yet to receive any news. 19-year-old center-back Finn Jeltsch was also a long shot to make the roster and it appears that the talented backliner will have to wait until the next cycle.
It should be noted that nothing has been released by the German national team as of yet, so all of this could change and should be considered unofficial.
