Cub Swanson proved age is just a number in his final UFC appearance earlier tonight (Sat., April 11, 2026) at UFC 327 LIVE on CBS/Paramount+ from inside Kaseya Center in Miami, Fla., putting a brutal stop to featherweight veteran Nate Landwehr with a first-round TKO (punches).
Despite being 42 years old and having high MMA mileage, many thought Swanson would bring enough to the table to ride off into the sunset with a win. Landwehr is tough, though, and has a knack for taking a fighter’s best shot
only to come back later in the fight. So while it was important for Swanson to get off to a hot start it was just as important to make sure he maintained his aging gas tank.
Swanson let it all hang out in his retirement fight and came out firing straight out of the gate. He landed at will and was instantly flowing with combinations that resulted in multiple knockdowns. Landwehr is nicknamed “The Train,” but he was the one getting ran over. To be honest, it was quite incredible to watch Swanson work and throw caution to the wind knowing he’d never compete again after Saturday night.
One final knockdown sent Landwehr crashing to the canvas and referee Herb Dean stepping in, as Swanson walked off with one of the most memorable performances of his career.
