Both of Sunday’s conference championship games had very close final scores despite two wildly different energies. However, both games featured LSU alumni securing their first Super Bowl appearance. Let’s
break them both down.
Patriots 10 at Broncos 7
The blizzard-like conditions of this game made life tough on our Louisiana boys. Will Campbell had some struggles against another ferocious pass rush and Kayshon Boutte only caught one pass for six yards despite being targeted six times. K’Lavon Chaisson, a former first-round bust, had five tackles for a tenacious defense that did enough to secure a Super Bowl appearance.
In addition to those three starters, the Patriots also have Bradyn Swinson and Jaquelin Roy on the roster. Five rostered Tigers is the most in the entire NFL, so I’m glad they’ve been rewarded with a Super Bowl appearance.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Rams 27 at Seahawks 31
Anthony Bradford blocked for a red-hot Seahawks offense that is now Super Bowl-bound, so congratulations to him! However, we have to recognize Omar Speights’ valiant effort with a game-high 11 tackles.
NFLSU Score: 5/10
