THE DAILY SPONGIE SPECIAL
BEARSSSSSS BULLSSSSSSSS
Ken’s note: Other than here on our pages at WCG, there was NO Bears news today. There was lots of Bulls news. So… I give you that instead. We will return to our regularly scheduled existence tomorrow. Feel free to talk Bulls, Cubs, Sox or any non-political topic.
Bulls stick to the script and draft Caleb Wilson with the No. 4 pick
The Bulls were linked to Wilson for the last month, as picks one through three fell exactly as scripted.
2026 NBA offseason
trade grades: Julius Randle, Nic Claxton
Bulls get Claxton for (literally) nothing.
Bulls already get busy before the draft, acquiring big man Nic Claxton
Price was right!
Chicago Bulls double down on ‘SLAP’ mentality by selecting Dailyn Swain
As long as it isn’t the ‘HITS’ mentality.
Bulls finally benefit as disastrous Lauri Markkanen trade is finalized
The Chicago Bulls traded Lauri Markkanen in a three-team sign-and-trade back in 2021, and it took five years to get the draft pick from the deal. The Bulls acquired a lottery-protected first-round pick from the Portland Trail Blazers that has been restricted since 2022. With Portland finally breaking their playoff drought, Chicago got the 15th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and selected Dailyn Swain.

Are the Bears on Jacob’s list?
Kessler: In applying for supplemental draft, Brendan Sorsby gave NFL everything it requested
Except, of course, a potential player they actually want in the NFL.
They’ve got the power to do it.
NFLPA has not decided whether (or how) to challenge the NFL’s position on Brendan Sorsby
Why should they. He’s eligible not a member yet, and the CBA wording that it’s the league (and nobody else) who choses whether to have a supplemental draft or not is crystal clear.
Falcons, Kyle Pitts agree to three-year contract
Kyle Pitts got paid. A lot. Teams with tight ends coming due for their second contract (Packers, Raiders, Lions) must have cringed at those numbers for a player not as good as Kraft, Bowers and LaPorta.
Marvin Mims: Extension would be sweet, but you can’t keep everybody
Mims will get paid as well.
KOW THINE ENEMY
Christian Watson: Packers focused on finishing after 2025 collapse
You mean collapse after collapse, right? Should be plural on that quote.
