Jarek’s Pre-Tipoff Thoughts:
There is no such thing as an easy conference game, especially on the road. Nebraska has exceeded everyone’s expectations (including mine), and they look to continue to defy the odds. This Hoosier team is not the toughest team we have faced so far, but it’s one that you do not want to take lightly. It’s a very high scoring offense, much like its football team. The Huskers have to come out of the gates quickly.
With the 11 am tipoff, hopefully most of the Indiana fans will be too hungover to cheer loudly from last night’s CFP semifinal. Part of me wants Indiana to beat Oregon, but that might create a wave of happiness and motivation that carries over to the basketball team. Nebraska has proven it can win on the road, and another tough one happens really early in the day.
I think Nebraska can get to 16-0 with a victory here. I like our chances, despite what the books and analytics might say. The Huskers have proven they can win multiple ways, from good shooting to solid defense to grit and determination. I think Nebraska keeps the nation’s longest win streak alive. Score Prediction: Nebraska 76 Indiana 70
