I hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend. This past week, I posted a handful of surveys in The Feed. There were a few pertaining to basketball, one on football, and one on the general level of fan engagement in the new world we live in. Some of our questions were looking back on Spartans of yesteryear. One of our questions revolved around a Spartan that we are hoping will still don the Green & White when next season tips off.
We will start there, with Jeremy Fears Jr. As of this publishing,
we have just over 72 hours until a decision needs to be made. The biggest bloc of TOC Nation voters were unable to get a read on the situation and are uncertain if Fears will be returning.
TOC will have updates on this story as soon as we find out anything. Hopefully, we get some good news in the days to come.
Our next survey did not get much in the way of responses. I asked who was the biggest disappointment among prior MSU basketball players. Just a couple readers shared their opinions.
For our third survey, we went back in the positive direction and got a few more responses. Who had the best freshman season in the Izzo era? Jaren Jackson Jr., Miles Bridges, Zach Randolph, and even Mateen Cleaves received nods.
The fourth survey looked back on the coaches that have walked the Michigan State Football sidelines. When I asked who the worst of them was, I got two votes apiece for our two most recent coaches. We even got one mention, from TOC writer Mike, of a guy who was a coach before, presumably, any of TOC Nation was alive.
And lastly, I wanted to know how much the changes brought on by the implementation of the NIL era has affected your fanhood for college athletics. More than half said they are “significantly less interested” now. Just a single voter said there had been no effect.
