Having been officially knocked out of playoff contention, the Indianapolis Colts (8-7) will host the division leading Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4)(-4.5) at 1 PM EST (FOX) with seemingly nothing left to
play for, except for franchise pride.
The Colts will continue to start unretired longtime veteran quarterback Philip Rivers behind center, who leads an offense that currently ranks 6th (27.9 avg. ppg) league wide in points scored. Meanwhile, the Indianapolis defense surrenders the 18th most points (23.4 avg. ppg) respectively, looking to rebound from a terrible outing last Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers.
The good news for the Colts is that both starting left tackle Bernhard Raimann and cornerback Sauce Gardner are expected to play today, but the bad news is that veteran DeForest Buckner was placed on injured reserve again.
The rival Jaguars come into town boasting an offense under franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence that scores the 7th most points (27.3 avg. ppg), with a defense that allows the 10th fewest points (20.8 avg. ppg).
For those Colts fans trying to tune in, the game will be aired on FOX with Joe Davis (play-by-play) and Greg Olsen (analyst) on the call. The game can also be viewed on NFL+ and YouTubeTV with paid subscriptions.
The TV map can be viewed here.
For those listening in locally, Colts fans can hear the game on 93.5 and 107.5 The Fan, as well as 97.1 HankFM. Matt Taylor (play-by-play), Rick Venturi (analyst), and Larra Overton (sideline) will be handling radio duties.
The officiating team will be Brad Allen and his crew.
It is around 64 degrees in Indianapolis, but with light rain and overcast, the Lucas Oil Stadium roof is closed.
The Colts currently lead the series 28-21-0, with the Jaguars winning the last time these two teams met on December 7th of this month, with a 36-19 victory. Colts starter Daniel Jones tore his Achilles that game.
