Florentino Pérez will officially kick off his campaign for the Real Madrid presidency on Wednesday evening, as the club’s election process begins to take shape ahead of next month’s vote.
The current president is set to present his candidacy at 7:00 PM local time at the Meliá Castilla Hotel in Madrid, where he will unveil the slogan for his campaign: “Much history to be made.” The message is aimed at reinforcing Pérez’s vision for the future while reminding socios of the unprecedented success Real
Madrid have enjoyed under his leadership.
In the lead-up to the announcement, Pérez’s campaign team has already begun promoting his candidacy around the Santiago Bernabéu. A large banner displayed near the stadium highlights the seven Champions League trophies won during his two spells as president — a reminder of the club’s dominance in Europe throughout the modern era.
Real Madrid are expected to officially confirm the date of the presidential election later today. Barring any last-minute changes, the vote is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 7th.
Pérez will face businessman Enrique Riquelme in the election, with the winner set to lead the club for the next four years.
Florentino Perez has served as president across two different eras, first from 2000 to 2006 and again since returning in 2009. During that time, Real Madrid have transformed both financially and competitively, winning multiple Champions League titles while also overseeing the extensive renovation of the Santiago Bernabéu.
