Kentucky volleyball has been on a tear recently, and that continued on Thursday night when the Wildcats beat Louisville, 3-2.
They dropped the first set (25-21, L) but battled back (25-21, W), (26-24, L), (25-12, W) & (15-7, W) to win four of the next five.
The victory showcased several things, including the team’s passion and desire to ensure Louisville makes it home with a scratch or two.
Head coach Craig Skinner and his team had to also be fired up about beating their in-state rival on the road.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, meanwhile, posted the second-fastest time in World History to win the 400m title at Tokyo 2025.
It’s the fourth time she has been recognized as a world champion.
McLaughlin-Levrone’s winning time for the world title was 47.78 seconds.
It was the second-fastest in history behind the 47.60 that Germany’s Marita Koch ran in 1985.
A record that 40 years ago felt would never be broken has someone fiercely knocking on the doorstep.
