Game notes
- Matinée hockey! The Bruins will player their second Atlantic Division game in as many outings, hosting Tampa at TD Garden today just two days after beating Buffalo at home as well.
- It’s silly to draw conclusions after three games, but if you looked at the schedule in September and were told one of these teams would be winless and one would be undefeated, you could be excused for getting things backwards.
- It hasn’t been a good start for Tampa, as the Bolts have not only lost their first two games, but have given up a whopping 10 goals between the two. They scored seven of their own, sure — but giving up five goals a game doesn’t sound like the stingy Lightning we’ve come to expect in recent years.
- Per Raw Charge, this is the first time since Jon Cooper took over that Tampa has lost its first two games of the season.
- It’s probably too early to sit your world-class goalie, but if Tampa wants to give Vasilevskiy a spell to try to get his game back on track, Phoenix Copley is their backup goalie.
- We could be in for some fisticuffs today, with Tampa recently adding Curtis Douglas on waivers; he promptly fought in his first shift of his first game.
- Hampus Lindholm skated on his own before practice on Sunday, and he’s officially still day-to-day.
- After today’s game, the Bruins will head out west for games against Vegas, Colorado, and Utah.
See
ya this afternoon!
