Game notes
- The Bruins and Flyers will meet for the first time this season tonight at TD Garden, as the B’s will play their last home game prior to the Olympic break. After tonight, the next game at TD Garden will be on February 26 against Columbus.
- This is a pretty big game for the Flyers, who are kind of hanging around the edges of the Eastern Conference wild card race. They’ll be facing a Bruins team that’s eight points ahead of them in the standings, so a win (combined with the fact that Philly has two games in hand) would go a long way towards keeping them in the hunt.
- The Flyers played last night in Columbus, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Blue Jackets. They’re just 2-7-1 in their last ten games.
- Travis Konecny has been Philly’s most reliable producer this season, and he’s coming off of a hat trick in Columbus. He has 5G-2A-7PTS totals in his last five games.
- Former Bruin Dan Vladar started last night’s game in Columbus, so we’ll likely see Samuel Ersson in net for Philly tonight.
- No official word yet on the status of Elias Lindholm, who left Tuesday’s game with an injury and was supposed to have additional work done on Wednesday. I’d guess he’s probably out, but that’s pure speculation.
- After a brief dry spell, Morgan Geekie has five goals in his last five games, including his 30th of the season on Tuesday night against Nashville.
See
ya tonight!
