To give the team next week off before their big annual winter holiday tour starts on Dec. 26 (followed by a trip to Europe, some Canadian dates, and Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia), WWE is taping additional
material for Raw and SmackDown along with this week’s regular live episodes.
Last night (Dec. 15) before Raw in Hershey, Pennsylvania, they taped material for SmackDown — likely parts of the Friday, Dec. 26 episode.
Here’s what was filmed, according to SPOILER reports from PWInsider and Bodyslam:
- A Damian Priest promo was interrupted by an attacking Aleister Black, who later laid him out backstage.
- Nia Jax and Lash Legend had a backstage segment before their match with Kabuki Warriors. Jax & Legend defeated Asuka & Kairi Sane, but the scene ended with Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss chasing everyone off.
- Giulia gets a backstage promo before defeating Alba Fyre in a match
- Ilja Dragunov & Carmelo Hayes defeat #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa)
- A tag match between The Wyatt Sicks’ Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy and MFTs JC Mateo & Tonga Loa ended in a no contest.
Not much, but a Friday night show on the day after Christmas isn’t going to be appointment viewing for too many folks, anyway. Pad it out with some highlight packages, and you’ve got a filler episode without doing a full clip show.
What’s your take?
