On loan from Real Madrid, Fiorentina’s Franco Mastantuono has been named the club’s player of the month for September 2026. After a rocky start to his European career at Real Madrid last season, the 19-year-old Argentine is beginning to show his talent in Serie A.
He scored a historic hat-trick against Venezia and has two assists to his name since moving to Fiorentina. He also scored for Argentina against Burkina Faso during the recent international break. In the Serie A season, compared with attacking midfielders and wingers with at least 360 minutes played, Mastantuono is in the 88th percentile for carries into the final third and the 82nd percentile for take-ons won per 90.
While a path back to Real Madrid may be tricky, it is definitely a positive sign that the player is getting some much-needed confidence during this loan spell. Fiorentina have a tough run of fixtures coming up where they will face Como, Inter and Atalanta.
