That was a tough loss on Sunday.
Before the Baltimore Ravens beat them up 30-16, the Chicago Bears hadn’t lost a game since Week 2 on September 14. Four straight wins spanning nearly a full calendar month, and vibes around our fanbase were high.
What made losing in Baltimore especially tough was the Ravens’ not having All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson, which felt like a gift for a Chicago franchise looking for its fifth win for the first time since 2018. But the Bears couldn’t capitalize, as their own injury issues forced them to play backups at every cornerback spot. They also lost a couple of reserve defensive ends during the game, and they couldn’t rally to stop Baltimore’s offense, which had a fantastic game plan to attack the Bears.
The Ravens played like a desperate team coming out of their bye week, and the Bears didn’t have an answer in any aspect of the contest. We’ll get to see how head coach Ben Johnson and his team react after dropping a game they probably felt pretty good about.
Vote in this week’s confidence poll, and also on the question about which Bears player is most important for them when they play the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
We’ll share your results in a few days.
