Mike Krzyzewski has many gifts, but one that’s key to the rest is time management. During his time at Duke, Coach K has successfully managed careers in speaking, radio, the U.S. Olympic team, advising the NBA, and memorable commercials.
You could never do that much if you didn’t have brilliant time management abilities.
We thought it would be fun to dedicate a week to Coach K’s ads. First up is the classic spot for Guitar Hero, which came out in 2009 during the NCAA tournament.
The ad features four
legendary coaches – Coach K, Rick Pitino, Roy Williams, and Bob Knight, sliding out at the end, all with instruments, or, in Knight’s case, a microphone.
They start to mock-play, but are interrupted by Metallica, and when one of the band members calls Knight “Pops,” he starts throwing stuff.
It’s a fun, lighthearted ad that hit in the right way at the right time.
