The Huskies were suppose to be entering Week 3 with a couple of big wins under their belt and valuable experience to take into the Big 10 schedule. Instead, it feels like the Dawgs are almost starting over, at least offensively, with two dismal performances. At the same time, the team is 2-0 thanks to great defensive efforts, so not all is lost. Eastern comes in 1-2, with a win over Northern Iowa and losses to Northern Arizona and South Dakota (yes, that is four directional school names). The Huskies smashed
the Eagles 47-14 last time they met in 2019. The two previous meetings were both close thanks to great QB play for EWU. In 2014, Vernon Adams threw 3 TD passes to Cooper Kupp and 475 total yards in a 59-52 UW win. The 2011 game was similar. Bo Levi Mitchell passed for 473 yards, but Desmond Trufant intercepted him in the endzone in the closing seconds to hold on 30-27. Let’s hope this one looks more like 2019 than the previous two.
Just like last week, the game will air on Big 10 Network with A.J. Kanell, Marcell Reece, and Alyssa Charlston-Smith on the call. Big 10 Network also streams on the Fox One app. Elise Woodward will call the game on KJR 93.3 FM with Cam Cleeland and Softy Mahler in support.
Go Dawgs!
