The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed tight end Darnell Washington on injured reserve, ending his season. The Georgia product suffered a broken arm in Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns that required surgery
to repair.
Washington put together his best professional season by far in 2025, notching career highs in receptions and yards. Not only did he achieve new career highs in both categories, but his 2025 production also outweighs 2023 and 2024 combined. In his first two seasons, Washington caught a combined 26 passes for 261 yards. Using him more as a receiver in 2025 paid dividends for the Steelers’ offense.
With their best blocking tight end out of the lineup, the Steelers will need to find new ways to spring open outside run lanes for Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell if they hope to defeat the Baltimore Ravens and win the AFC North.
