“Beast Boy” is officially 1-0 in competitive face-smacking.
Somewhere between a combat sport and a bad decision made outside a bar at 2 a.m., Chris Barnett is officially a Power Slap winner.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight fan favorite made his promotional debut against Jake Logan at Power Slap 23 tonight (Thurs., Sept. 17, 2026) inside United Supermarkets Arena of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. And for however many people are still willingly watching Dana White’s
silly slap-fighting sideshow, “Beast Boy” delivered a surprisingly entertaining performance.
Logan won the coin toss and struck first, cracking Barnett across the face with a clean opening slap. Barnett absorbed it without much trouble and prepared to return fire, but Logan flinched during his first attempt, giving the former UFC fighter another opportunity.
Logan managed to survive Barnett’s second swing, allowing the brain-cell exchange to continue.
Barnett ate another slap in the second round before unleashing one of his best shots of the match. The strike rocked Logan, but it wasn’t enough to put him down, meaning viewers were treated to another round of two Heavyweights standing completely still and hitting each other in the face.
What a sport. Or whatever they are still calling it.
By the third round, Barnett appeared to be enjoying himself. “Beast Boy” absorbed Logan’s final slap and immediately laughed in his opponent’s face, showing little concern for what he had just eaten. Barnett then delivered his final shot, but Logan once again remained upright.
With neither man rendered unconscious, the contest went to the judges, who awarded Barnett a unanimous decision victory with three identical scores of 29-28.
Barnett apologized afterward for failing to secure the knockout, admitting that he needs to work on slapping harder. The 40-year-old fan favorite promised he would deliver a finish in his next appearance, meaning he’s staying with Powerslap.
The victory continues Barnett’s post-UFC run through combat sports’ strangest corners. After leaving UFC following consecutive losses, “Beast Boy” returned to the win column with a 61-second knockout under the Karate Combat banner before removing the gloves — and nearly every other recognizable element of fighting — for Power Slap.
But hey, a win is a win. Even when it comes from standing perfectly still and taking turns giving another grown man an open-handed concussion.
