Midfielder Brazilian Ary Borges has signed a three-year contract with Angel City FC through the 2028 season, the club announced today.
The former Racing Louisville becomes the first signing for Angel City in this 2026 offseason, after the club teased a Brazilian signing on Monday. Also, she’s the first of five new players the club has signed, with the other four to be revealed.
“I’m very excited to play on this new stage in Los Angeles,” said Borges. “I’m stepping up in my career, being part of a great project like Angel City. I’m also so excited to play in front of the fans who were always amazing when I played against Angel City, so I know it will be an indescribable feeling to play for them. See you soon, LA!”
With Racing Louisville, she earned 53 appearances in three seasons, with 21 of those games being played in 2025, and netted six goals. It was her attacking prowess with Brazilian club Palmeiras that caught the eyes of Racing Louisville’s scouts, a prowess she will want back to be a standout at Angel City.
Besides playing for club, she also represents Brazil at the international level and has 50 caps with the Seleção Feminina.
“We are excited to welcome Ary Borges to Angel City, a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who has both NWSL and international experience for one of the best national teams in the world,” said ACFC Sporting Director Mark Parsons. “She is a brave talent who always wants the ball and to control the game while also being relentless in defending and not giving her opponents a rest. Ary brings important big game experience and competitive mentality with her to Angel City.”
