Real Madrid forward Yan Diomande spoke to Sporty TV and shared thoughts about his transfer to Real Madrid, the expectations that come with it, and the change of playing under Jose Mourinho.
“Mourinho has a lot of personality, which is good for us because sometimes when you’re young, you are a bit everywhere; you lose focus sometimes. I think he is the right manager for me to keep following my development as a young player,” Diomande said.
“When I first spoke with the Mister, I was surprised because
he speaks French. I think it was 5 am in Portugal; he woke up to speak with me, so it means I was important. When Madrid calls, you will not say no.”
“Real Madrid spent a lot of money on me, but I feel no pressure. Why should I be scared? If they spent a lot of money on me, that means they believe in me. I’ll do what I do, and God will do the rest,” he added.
