Another disappointing finish for the New Orleans Saints, but even amid the struggles, one player is showing up consistently. Without his presence in Paris, this game probably would have gotten out of hand quickly.
Chase Young is the MVP of this game and, so far, of the season. Young was voted a captain to begin the season, and he is living up to that standard. On Sunday, Young finished the game with two tackles (one solo and one assisted), 1.5 sacks, and one tackle for loss.
Even on the plays he did
not make, his presence on the edge was felt, as he was stressing the Steelers’ offensive tackles on every play. According to PFF, Chase Young has the second-best pass-rush grade in the NFL.
An honorable mention would be Carl Granderson. Granderson seems to be the complement to Chase Young, and against the Steelers, he finished with four total tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one tackle for loss.
Granderson has been developing over the past several seasons, and if he can continue this progression, it would help the Saints consider adding defensive help at other major positions of need.
