The Virginia Tech Hokies (3-5, 2-2) are back in Lane Stadium this weekend, where they’ll host the No. 16 Louisville Cardinals (6-1, 3-1). Tech is coming off an exciting double overtime win over California
last Friday night, where quarterback Kyron Drones passed for three touchdowns and ran for two more.
The Cardinals make the trip to Blacksburg coming off back-to-back wins over then-No. 2 Miami and Boston College. Louisville’s only loss this season came to Virginia, 30-27.
Considering where these two teams are as of now, it’s no surprise that Louisville is a big favorite on Saturday. Here are the early betting lines for Saturday’s game, via FanDuel Sportsbook.
- Spread: Virginia Tech +11.5 (-118), Louisville -11.5 (-104)
- Moneyline: Virginia Tech (+330), Louisville (-430)
- Over/Under: 53.5
There’s reason to believe the Hokies can compete with Louisville this weekend. Quarterback Miller Moss leads the Cardinals. He has completed 65% of his passes for 1,793 yards, with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Isaac Brown leads Louisville’s rushing attack, averaging 8.7 yards per carry this season. However, wide receiver Chris Bell is the name to know for the Cardinals. The senior wide receiver is probably the best receiver the Hokies have faced this season.
