Urgency increased with the 20-minute time limit running down. Both men threw haymakers. Briscoe went for the Jay Driller. Ciampa escaped to counter for a German suplex. Briscoe was dazed. Ciampa lowered his knee pad to land a running knee strike. That was the finish. Briscoe did not kick out, and Ciampa is the new TNT champion.
AEW made it clear that Ciampa is a babyface. He shared a handshake of respect with Briscoe before and after the match. Kyle Fletcher came out with an eye on Ciampa’s new prize. Backstage, Ciampa celebrated with his family.
