There was some uncertainty, but after a year-long battle with Cal Raleigh, Aaron Judge was named the American League’s Most Valuable Player last night. It’s Judge’s third such award in the last four seasons,
cementing this stretch among the very finest runs ever authored by a player in MLB history. Over in the NL, Shohei Ohtani won his fourth MVP award, giving him two in both the AL and NL, including the last two NL awards. We’re pretty darn lucky that we get to see two athletes as good as this pair ply their trade on a daily basis.
On the site today, Matt profiles an interesting free agent, Ranger Suárez of the Phillies. We’ll also get the grade on Max Fried’s season (something tells me it will be in the A-range) from Nick, and later Madison will deliver the answers to this week’s mailbag.
Questions/Prompts:
1. Leave aside which was the best season of Aaron Judge’s career; which has been your favorite season from him?
2. What’s more likely, both Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani win MVP in their respective leagues next year again, or neither do?
