What is the story about?
- The current mess of collegiate eligibility has led to some truly bizarre roster constructions, especially in Men’s Basketball. UW joined the circus this week by adding 24-year-old Boris Tisma, a 6’9” Croatian forward who previously played for seven years as a pro. Tisma joins from KK Zadar, who plays in the Adriatic league against several of the top teams from the former Yugoslavian countries (plus Dubai, for money reasons). Tisma will bring plenty of experience to the frontcourt and hopefully help offset some of the rebounding and scoring that left with Hannes Steinbach.
- We are still almost two months from fall football camp, but that doesn’t stop Dawgman from looking ahead to what is to come. Scott Eklund previews 10 young players (first or second-year) who he is excited to see in live action when the team hits the field.
- Elsewhere at 247, Osani Gayles gives details on his recruitment. The superstar receiver is widely thought to be choosing between Alabama and UW. He will announce at the end of the month.
- Amanda Moll won the Big 10’s Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year award after setting numerous pole vault records through the season. The family mantle is getting crowded after twin sister Hana won the same award for the Indoor season.
