Colby Covington is returning to Real American Freestyle.
On Tuesday, RAF announced that Covington will return to action for the promotion when he takes on combat sports’ lightning rod Dillon Danis in the co-main event of RAF 7 on March 28, at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
A former interim UFC welterweight champion, Covington made his RAF debut at RAF 5 in January, where he defeated Luke Rockhold via Tech Fall. Covington hails from a wrestling background, winning a JUCO national championship and NCAA
Division 1 All-American honors in his collegiate wrestling career.
One of the biggest pot-stirrers in combat sports today, Danis is the inaugural and current Misfits MMA light heavyweight champion. An accomplished grappler, Danis has also tested his skills in various boxing pursuits, but now moves to the wrestling arena for the first time.
RAF 7 is expected to be headlined by a rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas, who had a controversial match at RAF 6 in February, where Tsarukyan attacked Poullas after the final whistle.
