Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has started against the Ravens six times — including the playoffs — in his NFL career before Week 8’s clash, and he hasn’t exactly flourished in those matchups with Baltimore.
He’s been surprisingly held in check as a runner too.
Allen’s average completion percentage in those six games is just 59.3%. His passing-yard average is just 211 with a pedestrian 6.06 yards-per-attempt average, and his rating is a mere 82.7. However, his touchdown-to-interception ratio is 5 to 1.
His highest rushing-yard total (70) came in a 23-20 comeback in 2022. Other than that, Baltimore has held Allen to 30 yards or less on the ground.
Allen has played the Ravens defense three times the past two years (twice in 2024), and of course, Baltimore’s personnel has changed over that time to a certain degree, but key pieces like Roquan Smith, Kyle Hamilton, and Marlon Humphrey remain.
Despite his relative struggles against the Ravens in his NFL career to date… we can’t forget about Allen’s most recent outing facing this Baltimore team.
Through three quarters in Week 1 last season, Allen was 18-of-26 for 143 yards with one touchdown through the air and no interceptions.
Then he erupted.
In the Bills’ furious comeback, Allen went 15-of-20 for 251 yards with one passing touchdown and two scores on the ground… in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 41-40 victory. He finished with 394 yards passing.
Let’s see if that season-opening game a year ago was a turning point for Allen in his games against the Ravens defense.
