Barcelona midfielder Pedri says he loves Julian Alvarez and would be happy to welcome the Argentina international to the Camp Nou this summer.
Alvarez is the club’s top transfer target and has made it clear he wants out of Atletico. Dani Olmo, Gavi and Pau Cubarsi have all praised Alvarez in recent weeks and now it’s Pedri’s turn.
“I think a lot of things have to happen for that to occur. I don’t want to get involved in club matters or player issues,” he told RTVE.
“I love Julián as a player, and I’ve
always said I want the best players at Barça. If it happens, welcome.”
Pedri also spoke about Spain’s next game against Uruguay at World Cup 2026 and is expecting a tough battle.
“I think they’re a team with a lot of intensity, they don’t give the ball away,” he added.
“It’s going to be a tough, difficult match ; they’re playing for everything. I think they’re going to come out all guns blazing. Regardless of whether there are tackles or not, it’s a contact sport, so that’s just how it is.”
The two teams meet on Friday in Mexico with Pedri knowing that a booking in the game would bring a one-match ban and rule him out of Spain’s last 32 match.
