Jürgen Klopp has plenty of decisions to make before Germany’s November camp, but the attacking midfield position might be one of the most interesting.
Florian Wirtz has already shown what he can bring in the role, including his excellent performance against Serbia, while Jamal Musiala remains an obvious candidate when he is available. Wirtz and Musiala could even compete directly for the No. 10 role, or Klopp could find a way to get both players onto the pitch together.
Serge Gnabry is another option,
particularly given his experience at the international level and his ability to operate in multiple attacking positions. Lennart Karl also presents an intriguing wildcard option after earning his opportunity with the senior team. Klopp could also lean on Kai Havertz, who has the ability to play the role as well.
That leaves Klopp with several distinct profiles to consider: Wirtz offers creativity and playmaking; Musiala brings ball-carrying ability and beat-the-defender skill; Gnabry provides experience and versatility; Havertz offers great flexibility; and Karl represents the opportunity to give another young talent a significant role.
The September and October camps were about experimentation. November should tell us much more about Klopp’s preferred XI.
So, who gets the No. 10 spot?
Wirtz? Musiala? Gnabry? Karl? Havertz? Or someone else entirely?
