The Indianapolis Colts today released their Wednesday injury report for week 5 of the NFL season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Center Tanor Bortolini (ankle) missed practice today. Bortolini was seen at practice wearing a walking boot/ankle brace. Bortolini looks like he is set to miss time maybe even beyond this week.
Linebacker Jaylon Carlies (ribs) missed practice today. Fellow linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither knee) also missed practice today. The
Colts two starting linebackers both missing practice doesn’t bode well for a defense that has just started to turn a corner. However, if they do both miss Sundays game it could mean rookie linebackers Bryce Boettcher and CJ Allen get more snaps.
Defensive end Arden Key (hamstring) missed practice today. Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen told the media earlier in the week the team expects Key to miss some time with the injury. The team announced today they had signed defensive end Carl Lawson to the practice squad to join the defensive end rotation.
Wide receiver Ashton Dulin (hamstring) missed practice today. Dulin managed to play in London on Sunday but appears to have aggravated his hamstring injury that caused him to miss two games earlier in the year. Dulin looks like he may be missing a third game with the injury.
Wide receiver Keenan Allen (rest/groin) and running back Jonathan Taylor (rest) were both killed at practice today due to veteran rest days. It will be interesting to see how Allen managed with tomorrow’s practice as he missed Sundays game due to the groin injury.
Tight end Will Mallory (thumb) was a full participant at practice today. The Colts announced they have opened the 21 day practice window for Mallory to return from injured reserve. Mallory’s return could bode well for an offense that is screaming out for reliable pass catchers.
