CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Seemed more like a matter of when, not if.
After numerous weeks of being just left out, the Illini finally found their way into being ranked amongst the very best of the nation.
In this week’s AP Top 25 poll, the Illini have clocked in at No. 25.
This comes after sitting at 14-3 on the season, and 4-2 in conference play, with their losses being against two of the top-15 teams right
now, those being the No. 14 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 15 Michigan State Spartans.
This is no doubt one of the best starts in Coach Shauna Green’s career in Champaign, with this group starting to put the whole nation on notice about what they’re capable of doing.
But they’re still a whole lot for them to conquer, and they’ll definitely want to keep this ball rolling.
You can catch your now-ranked Illini in action against the Michigan Wolverines when they travel to Ann Arbor on Thursday to continue their rise in the poll.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will air on Peacock.
