With just 48 goals separating him from Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League scoring record, Kane was asked whether the desire to return to England and chase that milestone could eventually pull him back from Germany.
For now, however, the Ballon d’Or winner is fully committed to life in Munich, with much bigger collective ambitions still driving him.
“Not at the moment, not right now. I’m loving life in Munich, Bayern are such a great club. We have an amazing team, great coach, so yeah, right now that’s
where my focus is, and I’m extremely happy. And to be winning awards like this, it just shows why I made the move in the first place. Of course, there’s always ambitions, there’s always dreams for new achievements, new things. I still have a lot to achieve in this game, the Champions League from club level, winning a major trophy with England, this is the number one priority. So there’s so many great things I want to achieve, and I’m learning that in a career, in life, you don’t really have much of a say, you just have to go with the flow, see where it takes you, believe in what you’re going to do. Like I did making the move, and then just go full gas and, right now, it’s with Munich, and yeah, we’ll see where that takes me,” Kane said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Kane did not leave England to spend his time looking back. He made the move to Munich to win the biggest trophies in football, and he is loving every minute of it.
The Premier League record can wait. The Champions League trophy is calling.
