WE’RE IN SERIOUS DENAIL…early too
I don’t know how much longer we’re going to deny it and continue to outright say that the team should collectively and tactical makeup for the absence of a striker. When We have 2 young strikers on the bench, (Gonzalo & Endrick), both suffering from Talent Mis-representation. IMO, What do i mean? I mean, when you sit a player with potential, down on the bench for a long time at our club. Some of our fans and the media have a tendency to start reasoning and echoing that said player/s aren’t up to par for the club. Which isn’t always true.
But we need a full time god-damned striker in that center hole. Both Mbappe and Vini are screaming to play with one. Each time vini gets the ball down the left, i dont blame him for more than often, trying to solo it. Because half the time, on a fast break/play, almost no one is in the box at the same time as Vini. Barring maybe Mbappe And occasionally Jude. And Mbappe tends to roam about, as he should. It’s become a glaring problem, the elephant in the room. Mbappe isn’t meant to play the center always, especially when teams are parking the bus against us. He enjoys having the freedom to switch to the left/right, but for that freedom to be maximized. He needs a striker in that center role, as does Vini. And the idea that we don’t need a number 9/out and out striker because “others teams” don’t use that role, is not a concrete stance. In the long run it’s not sustainable.
I’m hoping the the Vini + Mbappe + Non-existent RW will somehow click. Because it can be easily and repeatedly exploited. After writing this, i’m well aware that if Mbappe/Vini score in the next game. some folks will say “See? we never need a striker..etc etc”. Right up until the next team parks the bus on us.
DON’T KNOCK IT TILL YOU TRY IT
Let it be that we tried Gonzalo/Endrick to play in the center, next to vini/mbappe and it didn’t work. Then by all means, lets stick with the duo clogging the left on a low block. But to not try it and say we don’t need it, is not reflective of the true potential this team wields.
