As DE Myles Garrett said, the Cleveland Browns have a chance to prove Detroit Lions OC John Morton wrong in Week 4. In many ways, Garrett really doesn’t have to say much because his play on the field has
been screaming this season. Through three games, the Browns star defender has four sacks, seven tackles for loss and six quarterback hits.
That is a full season for many defensive ends; Garrett has done so in just three chances.
Cleveland has one of the best defenses in the NFL heading into Week 4 against a very talented offense. Garrett has finally gotten some inside help in the form of Maliek Collins and Mason Graham, along with a lot of depth on the entire defensive line.
Despite that help, Garrett continues to be double-teamed at an amazing rate:
That number seems high, by itself, but is even more impressive when compared to the next few pass rushers:
- Micah Parsons – 67.01%
- Aidan Hutchinson – 60%
- TJ Watt – 54.76%
- Rashan Gary – 47.42%
- Trey Hendrickson – 41.94%
Just three full-time edge rushers are at or above the 60% mark, with Garrett almost at 70% and still just a half sack behind the NFL sack leader, Gary, with 4.5.
Are you surprised how often Garrett is double-teamed? Does that number impact how you see his performances overall through three weeks?
