We’re in the waiting game for the final matchup of the year, with the World Series set to kick off in two more days. Once we have a champion, the offseason begins in earnest and we’ll start to see the beginnings
of the Yankees’ plans for improving this team — unlike many of the past winters there doesn’t feel like a very obvious answer for the team to go all-in on, so there’s plenty of paths to explore.
While we have time to kill, consider spending some of it reading what we’ve got ready for your Wednesday. John starts us off with a look back at the top five defensive plays of the season (plus a few honorable mentions), and then Matt covers a pivotal Game 2 of the 2000 World Series in our latest Diary entry, complete with Roger Clemens/Mike Piazza drama. Finally, Josh takes the time to pen his thoughts on the World Series matchup and the joy of the game thriving among his fellow Canadians while feeling indifferent at best himself.
World Series Schedule:
Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Game 1: Friday, October 24th, 8pm ET

Questions/Prompts:
1. Will you be watching the Knicks kick off their season tonight against Cleveland?
2. How long after the World Series ends do you think it’ll take for the offseason rumor mill to heat up?
