Duke has something of a history with basketball playing brothers. The Blue Devils have the Boozer twins now, Cameron and Cayden, but in the past, they have had Ryan and Sean Kelly and the Caldbecks, Ryan and Justin. And then of course there were the Plumlees, Mason, Miles and Marshall, all of whom left Duke with championship rings.
Now it’s possible that another set of twins could be on the way as Darius and Adonis Ratliff, son of former NBA player Theo Ratliff, are rising stars.
They’re playing ball
at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, New York. If that sounds familiar, it may be because former Blue Devil AJ Griffin and former UNC Tar Heel RJ Davis both played there.
The twins are slightly taller than their old man, who is 6-10. He was a profound shotblocker at Wyoming, where he averaged 5.14 per game.
Obviously they’d be huge (no pun intended) additions for Duke, but there’s a long way to go in that battle. Also on the trail for either or both: Alabama, Louisville, Pitt, Texas, UCF, Wake Forest and Rutgers, among many others.
Perhaps down the road, Duke could get another Knueppel or four to add to the Brotherhood.
