Whether one is an aficionado of college pre-game shows or not, it was hard to miss the fact that ESPN Game Day staple Lee Corso had his last broadcast (WARNING: this clip has positive things to say about an OSU) this past weekend. I don’t think I’ve ever watched more than 20 minutes of College Game Day during my life, but it is hard to argue Corso didn’t have a huge impact on the college football experience of millions. He even got to share the screen with some truly legendary college athletes.
It
got me thinking about broadcast teams I’ve known over the years. In my formative days as a fan it was hard to argue with the gravitas of Pat Sumerall and John Madden, who in many ways first taught me the game. Legacy Pac-10 fans like myself were also spoiled by getting to experience Keith Jackson for longer than most.
I thought we could share who our favorite current broadcast teams are. We’re only counting television crews, since obviously the only answer for any true Ducks fan is Jerry Allen and Mike Jorgenson. Tell us about why a given crew is your favorite (or the opposite…) in the comments.
